Today, this is a waitlist

Meridian is being built. There is no app yet, no account to create and no running data being collected by anyone. This page describes what happens now, and then — separately and clearly marked — what will change when the app exists.

What this website collects

One thing: the email address you type into the signup box, if you choose to type one. Nothing else. No account, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, no analytics of any kind.

What we do with it

We email you once, when the beta opens. That is the entire purpose. We do not send a newsletter, and there is no second email.

Who else sees it

Signups are handled by Formspree, which receives the address and forwards it to us. Their privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. The site itself is hosted by Cloudflare, who see the ordinary request information any web server sees.

Type styles are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request your browser makes for them. That is the only third party the page itself contacts.

Getting removed

Email [email protected] and we will delete your address. No form, no reason required, no confirmation loop designed to keep you.

What we will never do

These are commitments, and they apply to the finished app as much as to this page.

  1. Never sell your data. Not to anyone, in any form, aggregated or otherwise.
  2. Never use your health or running data for advertising, and never share it with data brokers or ad networks.
  3. Never send health data to third-party analytics. A boundary enforced in code, not by policy alone.
  4. Never show your data to another user. Meridian has no feed and no social features.
  5. Never train models across users on it. The personalisation is a small number of coefficients fitted to your history and used only for your recommendations.
  6. Never make deletion difficult. One action, inside the app, not an email to support.

When the app ships

None of this is happening yet.

It is written down now so that the answer exists before the question does, and so that what gets built has to match it.

To tell you what pace to run, Meridian will need your running history and the conditions you are running in. Specifically:

Health and fitness data is special-category data under UK and EU law. It will be processed on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you connect a source and withdrawable by disconnecting it. Disconnecting Strava will delete every Strava-derived record we hold for you, at that moment.

We will not collect contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, advertising identifiers, or background location.

Children

Meridian is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

What Meridian tells you is not medical advice

Meridian gives pace, fuelling and hydration suggestions based on models of typical physiological response. It is not a medical device. Heat illness and over-hydration are both real risks, and no model knows how you feel today. Use your own judgement, and speak to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme.

Changes

The version and date sit at the top of this page. When the app launches this document will be replaced with one covering it in full, and anyone on the waitlist will be told before that takes effect.
